Specially designed, opened cell, flame retardant foam in a convoluted "egg crate" pattern. Helps to reduce muddy bass and cleans up the midrange by absorbing internal standing waves. Staple or glue to the top, bottom, sides and back of your speaker cabinet. You will be amazed at what acoustic foam can do for your sound system. Also ideal for small recording rooms and studios. Flame retardant in accordance with UL 94 HF-1 flammability testing. Sold individually in 24" x 18" pieces. 16 pieces per carton. Charcoal gray color. I had previously purchased several square panels from Auralex, with the triangular ridges. They worked great, but I wanted something that would cover more surface area. These larger panels certainly do that, but they also emit an almost unbearable odor. It's like a combination of plastic-y chemicals and dog urine, if you can imagine that. It's just horrible. And I've had these panels up in my music room for about 2 weeks, and it's still overpowering. I'm literally going to take them all down this weekend and just throw them away, after spending around 120$ on them. Very frustrating.
How other reviewers were not bothered by this is utterly beyond me.

Not too much to review... It absorbs sound at it is supposed to. Good material... Just don't let a dog pee on it cause the stink cannot be removed and your studio will really smell... lol

Doesn't work as well as I thought for soundproofing (I only bought 2 to be fair), but that's certainly not the seller's fault and so far as I've been able to surmise is still the best buy on the market.

this product is worth the buck you hear the differance in quality. i have a home studio and plan on filling my closet with this stuff.
